Science in Term 3 - Grade 5
In Term 3 grade 5s were getting ready for our science expo. I was figuring out which brand of sponge will hold the most water. I got this idea because we did a class experiment on retaining water. I thought it wouldn’t matter what sponge you used because they looked and felt the same. My results showed it doesn’t matter what sponges you use because they all absorbed similar amount of water with very little differences. I recommend buying the cheap one because they all held the same amount of water. Lots of the little kids enjoyed my presentation at the science expo because they could have a go themselves at doing my experiment.

In Term 3, grade 5s conducted their science experiments. We got to have our own theme. My topic was based on facewashes and how well they eliminate negative bacteria on the surface of my face.
The purpose of my experiment was to measure which facewash from a range of seven was the most effective in eliminating bacteria from the skin’s surface and therefore helping to eliminate unhealthy or unwanted bacteria! This would assist people when choosing the right facewash to support healthy skin, with less acne!
I was surprised because the results showed that the 2 cheaper (facewashes b and c) and the third facewash that worked was one of the 2 mid-range facewashes (facewash D).
