The Fathering Project, Amazing Race at Burnie Primary School

On Tuesday 30 November, The Fathering Project hosted our final event for 2021 and what a great event it was!  We had around 150 people in attendance and we were so lucky to have perfect weather for an outdoor event! It was great to see so many families working together in teams to complete the race.

A huge thanks to our wonderful Parent and Friends for supporting our event with organisation and food preparation and cooking. A special mention to Chris Bartlett, Dennis and Austin and Dale Grant from the Rotary Club of Somerset who also assisted with the cooking of our numerous sausages.

I would like to acknowledge the work by our Dads’ groups leaders this year and thank them for their enthusiasm and commitment in organising our events that have been so successful in fostering connections between Dads, Father figures and kids, but also making connections with other families. Thank you so much to Mathew Smart, Luke Sayer, Lyndon Hunter, Craig Stretton and Brendon Hyland for all your work this year, it is greatly appreciated! If you would like to join the team and be involved in the planning of events and helping out please let one of the guys know or leave your name at the office at BPS, we would love some new faces on board for 2022!
