The individualised letters were given to students on Thursday 7 July.

On Tuesday 9 August, Grades 5 and 6 students from Burnie Primary will join with students from other schools to take part in a Sports Expo.  The Sports Expo is organised by the North West Primary School Sports Association (NWPSSA).

The students will participate in one of the following sports for the day:

• Soccer- McKenna Park
• Netball- Howe Street
• Basketball- Somerset Sport Centre
• Football- Burnie High School
• Tennis – Burnie Tennis Club
• King of the Court- Upper Burnie Sports Centre

Students and teachers will travel by bus to one of these venues. The bus will leave at approximately 9:15am and return by 2:30pm. 

Students will need:

• School clothing – keep in mind sportswear eg shorts/trackies instead of a skirt/dress etc for practicality and warmth
• Sandshoes for Basketball, Netball, King of the Court and Tennis
• Shin pads- for soccer
• Football boots for soccer and football
• Jacket/coat
• Plenty of water to drink and a packed recess and lunch – there will be no canteen available

Parents are invited to come along and see their child/ren take part.
