Grade 6 Camp
On Monday the 26th of September the grade 6’s went on their camp, to Camp Clayton. We left at 9:00am and arrived at about 9:30am. When we got there, we unpacked and set up our rooms, then we had some recess. At about 10:30 we went to our first activity which was either the rock wall, flying fox, giant swing, or team rescue. After we finished our rotations at 12:00pm we had lunch, then at 1:00pm we did our second rotation. After two hours we had afternoon tea, then at 5:00pm we had free time. Some options were the trampoline, gaga ball, mini golf, volleyball or just playing on the oval. At 5:30pm we had dinner. Due to bad weather, we couldn’t play spotlight, so we watched Despicable Me instead. We had a break and ate some party pies for supper. After the movie we went back to our cabins and went to bed.
In the morning at 6:30am people could choose to go on the beach and have a walk for an hour and a bit. The walk was very pretty and a great chance to get out in the fresh morning air. At 8:00am we packed up our cabins and had breakfast. Then at 9:30am we did our last activity for one and a half hours. At 11:00am we had some free time. After 2 hours we had lunch and after 45 minutes we packed up and left Camp Clayton.
Overall Camp Clayton was a great opportunity to socialise, develop teamwork skills and show resilience. Everyone had a great time and made lots of funny and happy memories. Camp Clayton was certainly a great place to reflect and celebrate our last year of Burnie Primary.
