On Thursday December 8^th, 2022, Burnie Primary School will be holding an Athletics Carnival for students. As the NWPSSA carnival was run earlier in the year, this year we have a real emphasis on participation and fun. This event will consist of running, throwing, and jumping activities as well as some over novelties including Tug of War, Blind fold races, Water relay, Tunnel Ball and Over Under, a Bean Bag Target game, egg and spoon race, sack race and the 3-legged race. Students are encouraged to wear house colours Wyona (Blue), Oakleigh (Yellow) and Curraghmore (Green).

There will be sun screen at all stations, reminders to slip, slop, slap and everyone is required to wear a hat. The Parent Group will be giving each student an icy pole on the day. Grades will participate in activities together and each activity will run for approximately 15 minutes. The carnival will begin at 11:15pm and will conclude at the end of the school day at 2:45pm. Unfortunatley as there are so many events happening in Decemeber, if it rains, there is no back up day!
