Over the last two years, Burnie Primary has been fortunate to have had students participate in Inside Out 4 Kids an initiative of City Mission. Inside Out 4 Kids (IO4K) is an early intervention well-being program which assists in aiding the emotional well-being of kids.

City Mission provides this program to school free of cost in the hope to assist children who may be struggling with anxiety, grief, and big emotions they have with everyday living. Children learn healthy coping strategies to manage this change. All IO4K programs are delivered by trained facilitators in a safe, confidential, and supportive environment.

Later this term, our Grade 3 students will be taking part in Emotional Literacy. This program runs for 5 weeks and focuses on children’s understanding of emotions and physiological responses, building foundations of emotional awareness of self and others, helping with self-expression, language, and regulation. There will be further information coming home with Grade 3 students next week.
