Seven students represented Burnie Primary School, and the North West, in the State Primary School Athletic Championships on Friday the 10^th of May.  This carnival brought together the best runners in the North, South and North West of the state. 

The students who represented the North West team were;

Taya Munday 1^st Shot-put

Lottee Rolls 3^rd 100m heat and 1^st in the 4 by 100m relay

Joshua Butcher 4^th 100m heat, 11^th 800m final, 1^st in the 4 by 100m relay

Blake Bracken 4^th 100m heat, 3^rd in the 200m final and 4^th in the 4 by 100m relay

Ellie Rayner 3^rd 100m heat and 1^st in the 4 by 100m relay

Bryce Dunham 5^th 100m heat, 4^th 200m final, 4^th in the 4 by 100m relay and 5^th in the long jump

Oliver Rattray 4^th in the 200m, 2^nd in the 100m heat and 4^th in the final of the 100m.

Well done to our Burnie Primary athletes it is an amazing achievement to be selected in this team.

Also a special mention to Taya Munday who also competed in the State Athletic Championships on Saturday the 11^th of May.  Taya won both the Shot Put and Discus throwing personal best in both events. Taya will now be representing Tasmania at the National Championships in Darwin later in the year. Outstanding effort Taya.
