Cross Country
During PE in term three students have been familiarising themselves with the Cross Country Course and practicing their long distance running. On Thursday 1st June, 2023, Burnie Primary School held their annual Cross Country Carnival. After cancellations due to rain the sun finally was shining as students came to school dressed in house colours; Wyona (Blue), Curraghmore (Green) and Oakleigh (Yellow). At 1pm students in Prep – Grade 6 gathered on the oval along with parents, carers and the community ready for their races. The grade six students ran first followed by the grade five, fours and threes. Our grade 6 leaders then ran in some drizzling rain with our prep students, before our grade one and two students races concluded the afternoon. It was great to see every student who participated giving their best effort. At the end of the carnival the house points were: 3rd Place Curraghmore 401 points, 2nd Place Wyona 449 points and 1st Place Oakleigh 468 points.
