Burnie Eisteddfod
18 members of our 21 strong Eisteddfod Choir were able to participate in the 55th Burnie City Eisteddfod on Wednesday. All members of our choir have shown great dedication throughout Term 2 in giving up their Thursday lunchtimes to attend rehearsals. It is always a pleasure to work with those students involved in Eisteddfod Choir each year and to see the wonderful way they represent Burnie Primary with pride, courage and respect. Thank you to the families that were able to attend and watch our choir perform. Thank you also to Mrs Amanda McCall who accompanied our choir on their excursion to the Eisteddfod. Finally, thank you to all the members of our choir (including those unable to be with us today) who show such joy and care when singing together.
Mrs Kathleen Matthews (Music Teacher)
On the 28th of June, the Grades 3-6 Burnie Primary School Choir participated in the Burnie Eisteddfod along with other schools of the North West region. We performed the songs When I Grow Up from Matilda: The Musical and Rain by Peter Combe. We were in the first section and competed against Leighlands, Stella, Cooee and Yolla. The Eisteddfod was held in the theatre, while the students sat underneath the stage. All the students displayed the values of Courage and Respect. We congratulate all the students that participated in the Burnie Eisteddfod in 2023
