Grade 4 have been constructing Rube Goldberg Machines. These are simple machines that perform a task. Our challenge was to design a machine that could raise a flag. We used a lot of different materials including dominoes, marbles, bike wheels and cardboard tubes to make our machines work. We had to learn about what forces were involved in our design that would help us to raise the flag, some people used pulleys, others used the affect of gravity on an object. Everyone had a lot of fun doing this activity. We will share some of our videos at the next assembly.
