Grade 4 Excursion to Preminghana

Our excursion to Preminghana was a blast. We had so many things to do there. We saw a replica of an Aboriginal hut. It was huge! It nearly fitted both classes. We went on a walk to King’s Run as well. There we saw some seal hides Aboriginal women used to hunt seals and got to see some ochre.

On Wednesday, 16th of September grade 4JM and 4H went on an excursion to Arthur River.
We left at 7:50am on the bus heading to Arthur River the bus trip was 2 hours long. Then we visited an Aboriginal hut that we got to go into, then we went to a camp fire where we were told about Aboriginal bush tucker. After that we went on a walk to the beach and we split into 2 groups, one group went on a walk up a hill and one of our tour guides told us more about Aboriginal shelters and then we swapped over. The other group got told about how women caught seals in seal hides and why sacrifice hill is called sacrifice hill, it is because the men were thrown off a hill and the women were kept but since men were gone the women also jumped off. Then we had lunch and hopped on the bus and travelled home and got back to Burnie Primary at 5:30pm.
