I would like to say a big thank you for the warm welcome I have received upon my start here at Burnie Primary. It has been a wonderful first week, and what a busy week it was! If you haven’t already stopped by to say hi, please do so. I look forward to getting to know the Burnie Primary School community.
NWPSSA
Congratulations to the grades 3-6 students who represented Burnie Primary at the NWPSSA. All students did an outstanding job and even though we were pipped at the post by Penguin Primary, the feedback from staff was full of praise. Not only was this for the effort each student put in, but also for the way they conducted themselves.
Congratulations to all students who attended for upholding our school values.
Writing Collective
Staff had a busy week also attending writing professional learning by Julie Shephard. We are working with Somerset Primary and Yolla Primary on how teacher feedback can improve students' writing. These workshops were extremely informative, and we are excited to put into practice our new learning.
End of Term Assembly
The end of term assembly is on Wednesday March 31 at 11:30am. Two family members of those students who are receiving a Values Certificate are invited to attend. Class teachers will be in contact with you, if your child is receiving a certificate and we ask that you RSVP to the front office by Friday March 26. Sign in forms can be sent out electronically prior to the assembly or completed at the JMC upon arrival.
Moderation Day
Thursday, April 1 is a student free day as it is a state-wide moderation day. Staff will be joining with Havenview, Somerset, Yolla and Ridgley for moderation.
Holidays
As this is the last newsletter for Term 1, staff would like to wish all our families a safe and relaxing Term 1 break. We will see you back for the start of Term 2 on Wednesday 21 April.

If your mates would like to play or have a try, tell them to come along. All new and existing players are welcome. Sand shoes or soccer boots and a drink are all the equipment that is needed. Please call Melissa 0438 883 476 should you have any queries.
FairyGodmothers Fundraising Events
