Wow! Half-way through Term 3 already! Where did the time go? We are excited about our Book Week Parade in the JMC on 25 Wednesday at 9.00am. I’m sure I’ll have my costume organised by then!
Congratulations to our years 6 students. They were outstanding on camp, representing our school and values in the wider community. Well done!
We also have some students who have been outstanding in their sporting endeavours. Congratulations to Amarli Palmer for her selection into the Tasmanian gymnastic teams which will eventually be competing in Darwin. Congratulations also to Maitland Sayer for his selection to the state Hockey team, which will compete in Hobart. We wish Amarli and Maitland all the best.
School Social
The Parents and Friends group are organising school socials for Term 3 and classes are excitedly picking songs to dance to!
The socials will be on Wednesday September 8 in the JMC. The times are:
Kinder - Grade 2: 5.00 - 6.00pm
Grades 3-6: 6:15 -7:15pm
If you have a WWVP card and would like to help on the evening, please pass on your details and WWVP number to the front office.
2021 School Satisfaction Surveys
Each year the Department of Education conducts School Satisfaction Surveys in Tasmanian Government schools, to gain feedback on what you think our schools do well and where you think we may improve. We encourage you to complete the survey about Burnie Primary School. Your feedback is very important to help us inform our school planning and decision-making.
You can complete the online survey at any time until Friday 17 September 2021. Survey link or QR Code:
https://ncv.microsoft.com/m6euIzH7yM
All responses are anonymous and confidential with the survey carried out on a secure website.
Feedback is only accessible to the school principal and teachers and relevant Department of Education staff, in online summary report formats with no individuals or families identifiable.
For any assistance please contact Education Performance and Review by emailing: schoolsurveys@education.tas.gov.au. Thank you for taking the time to fill in this survey.

Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey
Attention: Parents and Carers of students in Grade 4 - 6
The wellbeing of our students is important to us.
To get an understanding of how students across Tasmania feel about their own wellbeing, students in Grade 4 - 6 at Burnie Primary School will be taking part in a wellbeing survey.
The Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey is part of the Department of Education’s Child and Student Wellbeing Strategy.
The details for the survey are:
When: 30 August to 3 September
Who: Grade 4 - 6
What do I need to do:
You and your child don’t need to do anything. The survey will be done in class time and will not require your child to prepare in any way.
A letter with more information has already been send home with all Grade 4 - 6 students with a form to sign and return to the school if you do not want your child to participate in the survey. The Frequently Asked Questions link is provided below.

If you would like further information, please contact Mrs. Rochelle Cunningham
Thank you for supporting us to ensure that all our learners are safe, feel supported and are able to flourish, so they can engage in learning.
It is important that your child feels connected to the school and their class whilst they are convalescing. If a student has been away for two consecutive days the teacher will touch base with the family on the third day. This is a way to support your child to stay connected. This may be a phone call, or via seesaw message. If you would like support before then, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or the office.
If your child is away for more than two consecutive days we ask that you provide the school with a medical certificate or statutory declaration. A statutory declaration form is available from the front office.
If you have any questions, please contact us.

Subway - Potential Wednesday offering
We are very excited to potentially have the opportunity to offer Subway on a Wednesday for our students at Burnie Primary School.
However we do need a volunteer to collect and deliver the lunches each Wednesday for this to happen. The volunteer/s would be provided with a complimentary lunch of their choice each week. Please contact Jacinda at Subway Burnie to discuss your interest. P: (03) 6431 2342 or email burnie@subwayadmin.com.au
Subway is still being offered on a Friday.
with thanks Burnie Primary School.....

You are welcome to arrange payment plans with our School Business Manager.
Please contact the school office should you have any questions regarding the invoices.
To our parents,
The School Association would like to sincerely thank our parents who came to the pancake breakfast last term. It was wonderful to have so many come and participate in a family activity. We would especially like to thank the Burnie Basketball Association for their help.
