It has been a delight to have our families join us for learning conversations, to be able to spend quality time together reflecting on your child's learning journey. Congratulations to all students for the effort, attitude and growth shown this year. Learning at Burnie Primary School is a team effort and working together best supports our children to reach their learning potential. Thank you to all those families who made a time to meet with us last week.
I would like to send our appreciation to our dedicated teachers who have been EXTRA busy lately. Assessing and reporting is a huge task and one that our teaches take great care with. We certainly appreciate all that our teaching team does for our students.
Principal Role
I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to lead Burnie Primary School throughout 2023 and for the first half of this year. I have been informed that Mr Andrew Starick has extended his leave, and the principal position has been advertised for the rest of this year.
As we are almost within sight of our Term 2 break, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of families, students and staff a safe and relaxing holiday break. We look forward to seeing you back for Term 3 on Monday, 22nd July 2024.

This term in Prep we have been focusing on fairy tales. We have had a lot of fun reading, responding to and writing about many fairy tales. We also have been learning about materials in Science and measurement in Maths. We have been able to combine these together to do some terrific inquiring, including making houses strong enough that the Big Bad Wolf can’t blow over, bridges that can hold a goat and making some beds out of straws to hold some bears!
